Fremont County is the 16th most populous of the 64 counties of the state of Colorado of the United States. The county is named for explorer and presidential candidate John C. Frémont. For the former mining town and current ghost town of same name, see Buckskin Joe, Colorado Buckskin Joe was a Western-style theme park and railway 8 miles west of Cañon City, Colorado, USA. It was located 1 mile south of U.S. Route 50 along the road to the Royal Gorge Bridge.
