Twin Lakes (Connecticut)

The Twin Lakes of Salisbury, Connecticut are Lakes Washinee and Washining, whose supposed identities as twins seem in conflict with their dissimilar size and shape. However, they are called the "twin lakes" not because of their size and shape, but because of their namesakes, two daughters of a Mahican chief.

Gridley Mountain

Gridley Mountain, 2,211 feet, is the third highest elevation in the state of Connecticut. The mountain, part of the Taconic Range, has no official trail and is located on private property. The Mount Washington Road passes the mountain from the west. Gridley Mountain is located in Salisbury, Connecticut. It is flanked to the northwest by Round Mountain, to the northeast by Bear Mountain, and to the west by Brace Mountain.

Wildcat Hollow, Connecticut

Wildcat Hollow is a valley in the Appalachian Mountains in rural Litchfield County, Connecticut located on a riverbend of the Housatonic River. It is located about 3 miles west of Salisbury, 2½ miles north of Falls Village, 2 miles south of Twin Lakes, and a mile north west of the peak of Mount Prospect.
