Aventura, Florida

Aventura is a planned, suburban city located in northeastern Miami-Dade County, Florida. The city name is from the Spanish word for "adventure", and was named "Aventura" after one of the developers of the original group of condominiums in the area remarked to the others, "What an adventure this is going to be. " The name predates the well known mall built near the condominium developments. According to the U.S. Census estimates of 2010, the city had a population of 35,762.

Highland Lakes, Florida

Highland Lakes is an unincorporated community in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. It is located just northeast of Ojus and Ives Estates, and just west of the city of Aventura. It is part of the Highland Lakes-Sky Lake area. There are plans to incorporate the area or be annexed with the city of Aventura. The city of North Miami Beach is also nearby.

Gulfstream Park

Gulfstream Park Racing & Casino is a racetrack and county-approved racino in Hallandale Beach, Florida, in the United States. During its annual meet, which spans December through April, it is one of the most important venues for horse racing in America. Gulfstream Park was opened on Wednesday February 1, 1939 conducting a four-day meeting. The initial meeting had a crowd of 18,000. In 1944, the track was reopened by James Donn, Sr. for a 20-day meeting in December.
