Palmer Trinity School

Palmer Trinity School is an independent, college preparatory, coeducational Episcopal day school located on 54 acres in Palmetto Bay, Florida. The school currently enrolls more than 600 students in grades 6-12. Palmer Trinity is the only Episcopal Middle and Upper School in Miami-Dade County. The school is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and the Florida Council of Independent Schools.

1986 FBI Miami shootout

The 1986 FBI Miami shootout was a gun battle that occurred on April 11, 1986 in an unincorporated region of Miami-Dade County in south Florida between eight FBI agents and two serial bank robbers. During the firefight, FBI Special Agents Jerry L. Dove and Benjamin P. Grogan were killed, while five other agents were wounded. The two robbery suspects, William Russell Matix and Michael Lee Platt, were also killed.
