Nelson, Georgia

Nelson is a city partly (0.631 sq mi) in Pickens and mostly (0.792 sq mi) in Cherokee counties in the U.S. state of Georgia. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 1314. It appears in the Atlanta metropolitan area. Pickens County was created in 1853 from parts of Cherokee and Gilmer counties. Keithsburg, Georgia

Keithsburg is a small unincorporated town in Cherokee County, Georgia, United States. It was established in the mid nineteenth-century along the railroad northeast of Canton. The community was named after the local Keith family and its Keith Plantation, one of the oldest plantations in Cherokee County. During the Civil War, the Keith family buried its valuables and suspended its food in trees in order to hide it from the approaching Union Army.

Buffington, Georgia

Buffington is an unincorporated community in Cherokee County, Georgia, United States. It began as the location of Fort Buffington, one of the Cherokee Removal Forts used to contain the Cherokee before the beginning of the Trail of Tears in 1838. After this time, Fort Buffington was either dismantled or fell into ruin, and only a state historical marker along State Route 20 stands to identify its former site. Today, Buffington is quickly transforming from a rural to suburban community.

Creekview High School (Canton, Georgia)

Creekview High School is a public high school located in Canton, Georgia. The school was opened in 2006, and the first class graduated in 2009. The high school is directly across the road from Creekland Middle School. During 2005, the first year of the high school, the lone ninth grade resided in one hall of the middle school. The following year, the students moved to the new building across the street and were joined by the rising freshmen.
