Stratford Academy

Stratford Academy is an independent school near Macon, Georgia, United States. Stratford was founded in 1960 by a group of Macon parents who felt that the central Georgia area needed an independent college preparatory school. In September 1960, the school opened its doors to 117 students and 17 faculty members in the antebellum Overlook Mansion on Coleman Hill in Macon's historic district.

First Presbyterian Day School

First Presbyterian Day School is a private college-preparatory Christian school in Macon, Georgia, United States. It was founded in 1970 as a project of First Presbyterian Church, also in Macon. Commonly known as "FPD", it offers curriculum from K-4 through the 12th grade to approximately 1000 students. New fine arts and athletics facilities were completed in 2000 and a new high school building in 2006. School colors are red and black and the school mascot is the Viking.

Museum of Arts and Sciences (Macon, Georgia)

The Museum of Arts and Sciences in Macon is a community museum for The middl of the US state of Georgia. The facility includes four galleries with frequently changing exhibitions, the Discovery House with hands-on activities, live animal habitats, the Mark Smith Planetarium, an observatory, nature trail, garden, store, auditorium and classrooms. New exhibitions on fine arts, science topics, and the humanities are presented for durations of four to six months.

Westside High School (Macon, Georgia)

Westside High School is a public high school located in Macon, Georgia. Opened in 1997, it is the largest school in the Bibb County school district. They educate students in grades 9-12. Pat Coxsey was the school's principal from Westside's establishment in 1997 until her retirement in 2006. Westside's current principal is Dr. Julia M. Daniely.

Payne, Georgia

Payne, more commonly known as Payne City, is a small city in Bibb County, Georgia, United States. It is an enclave completely surrounded by the city of Macon, and is the only other incorporated area in the county. The population was 178 at the 2000 census. Payne was originally a company town for a Bibb Manufacturing textile mill, founded in 1899. Though the mill is closed today, its former site houses several small businesses.
