Island Park Caldera

The Island Park Caldera in the states of Idaho and Wyoming, U.S. , is one of the world's largest calderas, with approximate dimensions of 80 by 65 km. Its ashfall is the source of the Huckleberry Ridge Tuff that is found from southern California to the Mississippi River near St. Louis. This super-eruption of approximately 2,500 km occurred 2.1 Ma (million years ago) and produced 2,500 times as much ash as the 1980 Mount St. Helens eruption.

Henry's Fork Caldera

The Henry's Fork Caldera in Idaho is a caldera located an area known as Island Park, west of Yellowstone National Park. The caldera was formed by one of the world's supervolcanos in an eruption of more than 280 cubic kilometers 1.3 million years BP, and is the source of the Mesa Falls Tuff. The Henry's Fork Caldera is nested inside of the Island Park Caldera and the calderas share a rim on the western side.

Palisade National Forest

Palisade National Forest was established by the U.S. Forest Service in Wyoming and Idaho on July 1, 1910, with 583,650 acres, evenly divided between Wyoming and Idaho, from the southern portion of Targhee National Forest. On July 1, 1917 the entire forest was named "Targhee" and the "Palisade" name was discontinued.

Last Chance, Idaho

Last Chance is a populated place in Fremont County, Idaho, United States. The name was collected by the United States Geological Survey between 1976 and 1979, and entered into the Geographic Names Information System on June 21, 1979. Last Chance is where Detective Crumb moves after retiring from the Chicago PD, in the TV show Early Edition (Season 2 Episode 19)
