The Grand Victoria Casino Elgin is a riverboat casino in Elgin, Illinois, located about 40 mi west of Chicago. It is 50% owned and operated by RBG, LLP, a subsidiary of Hyatt, and 50% by a subsidiary of MGM Resorts International, which acquired Mandalay Resort Group, the former 50% partner company, in April 2005. The casino opened its doors in 1994 and employs about 1,440 people.

Judson University

Judson University is an evangelical Christian liberal arts university located in Elgin, Illinois, United States. It was founded in 1963. Judson was formed out of the liberal arts component of Northern Baptist Theological Seminary. When the seminary moved from Chicago to Lombard, Illinois, it was decided to make the college separate from the seminary. Originally as Judson College, it was named after Adoniram Judson, the first American Baptist missionary to foreign shores.
