North Chicago, Illinois

North Chicago is an outer suburb/exurb of the Chicago metropolitan area and is an incorporated city in Lake County, Illinois, United States. The population was 32,574 at the 2010 census. North Chicago hosts the Great Lakes Naval Training Center and the headquarters of Abbott Laboratories. The city is also home to Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, which houses the Chicago Medical School and the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine.

Naval Station Great Lakes

Naval Station Great Lakes (NAVSTA Great Lakes) is the home of the United States Navy's only boot camp, located near North Chicago, in Lake County, Illinois. Important tenant commands include the Recruit Training Command, Training Support Center and Navy Recruiting District Chicago. Naval Station Great Lakes is the second largest military installation in Illinois and the largest training station in the Navy.

Winnifred Sprague Mason Huck

Winnifred Mason Huck (September 14, 1882 – August 24, 1936) was an American journalist and politician from the state of Illinois who became the third woman to serve in the United States Congress, after Jeannette Rankin and Alice Mary Robertson, the first woman to represent Illinois in Congress, and the first mother. She was elected to fill the at-large seat of her father, Representative William Ernest Mason, after his death.

Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine (SCPM) is the college of podiatric medicine at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science. Founded in 1912 by Dr. William M. Scholl along with five medical doctors, a pharmacist, a chiropodist, a chemist and a shoe fitter SCPM was originally called Illinois College of Chiropody and Orthopedics. At the time both daytime and evening sessions were offered.
