Perry Lake (Kansas)

Perry Lake is a US Army Corps of Engineers operated reservoir in northeast Kansas. Its primary purposes are flood control, water reserve for nearby areas and regional recreation. The lake is approximately 11,150 acres (45 km²) in size, with over 160 miles of shoreline. Perry Lake is 891.5 ft deep at full multi-purpose pool. Perry Lake is located about 40 miles west of Kansas City, just northwest of Lawrence, Kansas.

Ozawkie, Kansas

Ozawkie is a city in Jefferson County, Kansas, United States. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 645. It is part of the Topeka, Kansas Metropolitan Statistical Area. Located adjacent to Perry Lake, Ozawkie formerly existed in a different location but was relocated prior to the reservoir's construction.

Perry Lake Trail

The Lake Perry Trail is a 29-mile trail located in the Northeastern section of Kansas by Lake Perry. This trail is commonly referred to as the "Old Military Trail" because it was created by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Rock Creek, Kansas

Rock Creek (also known as Cooks Ford) is an unincorporated community in Rock Creek Township, Jefferson County, Kansas, United States. It lies along 110th Road near its intersection with K-4. K-4 used to run along Rock Creek Road and originally cut through Rock Creek, but years later the highway was widened and rebuilt just east of Rock Creek.

Thompsonville, Kansas

Thompsonville is an unincorporated community in Jefferson County, Kansas, United States. It was established in 1851 by a group of Mormon settlers who refused to follow the main group led by Brigham Young into the Salt Lake Valley of Utah. Among those settlers was Emily Trask Cutler, one of the plural wives of Heber C. Kimball, counselor to Young and daughter of John Alpheus Cutler, who founded the Cutlerite sect at Manti, Iowa while en route with the main body to the Salt Lake Valley.
