Berea Community High School (also known as Berea Community or BCHS) is located in Berea, Kentucky. Current attendance is approximately 350-400 students for grades 9 through 12. Despite its small size, BCHS is able to offer many sports and after-school activities to its students. These include Varsity American football, Soccer, Basketball, Tennis, Track and Field, Golf, and Academic Team, which competes at Governor's Cup (Academics). Berea, Kentucky

Berea is an art-centered town in Madison County, Kentucky, United States. The town is best known for its art festivals, its historic restaurants and buildings, and as the home to Berea College, a private, liberal arts college. The population was 13,561 at the 2010 census. It is one of the fastest growing towns in Kentucky having increased by 27.4% since 2000. Its most prominent institution is Berea College. Due to the high number of arts and crafts produced, Berea is a tourist attraction.

Battle of Richmond

The Battle of Richmond, Kentucky, fought August 29–30, 1862, was a stunning Confederate victory by Maj. Gen. Edmund Kirby Smith against Union Maj. Gen. William "Bull" Nelson's forces, defending the town. It was the first major battle in the Kentucky Campaign. The battle took place on and around what is now the grounds of the Blue Grass Army Depot, outside Richmond, Kentucky.

Blue Grass Army Depot (BGAD) is a U.S. Army conventional munitions and chemical weapon storage facility located in east central Kentucky, southeast of the cities of Lexington and Richmond, Kentucky, operated by the United States Army. The 14,494-acre site, composed mainly of open fields and wooded areas, is used for munitions storage, repair of general supplies, and the disposal of munitions.
