Hartford, Kentucky

Hartford is a city in Ohio County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 2,571 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Ohio County. It is believed to be named for a deer crossing on the nearby Rough River. The former two-year Hartford College existed on East Union Street at the site of the current Ohio County School Board administrative office.

WXMZ is a radio station licensed to serve Hartford, Kentucky. The station is owned by Starlight Broadcasting Co. , Inc. It airs an Oldies music format. The station was originally WLLS (LS 106), playing a Top 40 format. It was simulcast on WLLS-AM. The calls were switched to WKHB on October 1, 1996. The current calls were assigned by the Federal Communications Commission or March 19, 1999. On September 27, 2012, WXMZ moved from 106.3 MHz to 99.9 MHz.
