Shrewsbury, Louisiana

Shrewsbury was an unincorporated town in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, along the Mississippi River and Shrewsbury Road about 1 mile upriver from the border of the city of New Orleans. The name came into use in the mid-19th century, and became less commonly used towards the end of the 20th century, when surrounding communities of unincorporated Jefferson grew together as a suburb of New Orleans.

Jefferson is a census-designated place (CDP) in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, on the East Bank of the Mississippi River. Jefferson is part of the New Orleans–Metairie–Kenner Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 11,843 at the 2000 census. Within Jefferson are also areas known as Old Jefferson and Jefferson Heights.

WVOG (600 AM, "Gospel 600") is a traditional Gospel radio station serving New Orleans, Louisiana. The station, whose call letters stand for "The Voice Of God", is owned by F.W. Maple Leaf Bar

The Maple Leaf Bar is a music performance venue in New Orleans, Louisiana. It is also a bar and hosts a variety of other events. The Maple Leaf is on Oak Street in the Carrollton neighborhood of Uptown New Orleans. Opened on Feb 24, 1974, it is one of the longest continuing operations of New Orleans' music clubs with live performances seven nights a week. On that first night Andrew Hall's Society Jazz Band played and were there every Saturday for seven years.
