Monhegan, Maine

Monhegan is an island in Lincoln County, Maine, United States, about 12 nautical miles off the coast. The population was 75 at the 2000 census. Together with its uninhabited neighbor Manana, Monhegan is governed as a Maine plantation. The island is accessible by mailboat ferry (no automobiles) from Boothbay Harbor, New Harbor and Port Clyde. It was designated a National Natural Landmark for its coastal and island flora in 1966.

Manana Island (Maine)

Manana Island is an island in Lincoln County, Maine, United States, lying adjacent to Monhegan island, about 10 miles off Pemaquid Point on the mainland. The island is part of the Plantation of Monhegan. It is the site of the Manana Island Sound Signal Station, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Archeological sites on the island include a petroglyph and a stone cairn.

Allen Island (Maine)

Allen Island or Allen's Island is a 450 acres private island which is part of St. George, Knox County, Maine. In 1979, it was purchased by Betsy Wyeth, wife of painter Andrew Wyeth. The Island had lost its full time residents when it was purchased by Wyeth and had become "a seasonal home for two fishing families living in decaying houses on the fringe of the fast-encroaching spruce forest". It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on December 15, 1983.

Eastern Egg Rock Island

Eastern Egg Rock Island is an island in the Town of St. George, Knox County, Maine, United States, owned by the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife (MDIFW). It is located off the southern Atlantic Coast of the state, where scientists from around the world study. Project Puffin of the Audubon Society works on the island through a contract with the MDIFW.
