Marlton, Maryland

Marlton is an unincorporated area and census-designated place (CDP) in Prince George's County, Maryland, United States. The population was 9,301 at the 2010 census. The Marlton housing development, at first briefly called "Marlboro Country", grew up along U.S. Route 301 in the 1970s, and is part of the greater Upper Marlboro community. Residents attend Frederick Douglass High School.

Frederick Douglass High School, established in 1934 as Marlboro High School and renamed Frederick Douglass High School in 1935, is a public high school located in Croom, Maryland, with a mailing address of Upper Marlboro. It is a part of the Prince George's County Public Schools system and is named after the famous abolitionist, journalist, and orator, Frederick Douglass. The school is located at 8000 Croom Road, Upper Marlboro, Maryland 20772. The current principal is Mr. Rudolph R. Saunders.

Columbia Air Center

The Columbia Air Center was an airfield in Croom, Maryland from 1941 to 1958. It was started by African American pilots who were not permitted to use other airports, but was also open to whites. It had an all black staff, and a number of the trainers had served in World War II as Tuskegee Airmen. John R. Pinkett founded the airport in Croom, Maryland, in Prince George's County on leased land near the Patuxent River.

Rosaryville State Park
