Lac La Belle, Michigan

Lac La Belle, is the name given to both a lake and a small unincorporated community in Keweenaw County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The town was originally the site of a stamping plant for the copper mines of the Keweenaw, specifically the Mendota Mine and the Delaware Mine. Copper-bearing rock was transported from the mines to the stamping plant, where it was processed and loaded onto freighters.

Mount Bohemia

Mount Bohemia is a ski resort located near Lac La Belle, Michigan, in the northern Keweenaw peninsula. Mount Bohemia operates two chairlifts, and offers the highest vertical drop in the Midwest with 900 feet from the top of the peak to the base of the resort. The resort has 85 runs and first opened for business in 2000. Mount Bohemia does not operate any snow making equipment and relies on its 250 to 300 inch year average of lake effect snow, the most seen at any resort in the Midwest.

Mandan, Michigan

Mandan is a ghost town in Grant Township, Keweenaw County, Michigan, on US Highway 41, about twelve miles south of Copper Harbor, Michigan. It was the site of the Mandan Mine and the Medora Mine, two copper mines which were organized in 1864 and worked intermittently until their abandonment in 1909. The town was served by the Keweenaw Central Railroad.

Lake Medora is a lake located on US 41 in Keweenaw County, Michigan, near Grant and Eagle Harbor Townships. It is approximately 700-acre, with islands. It is approximately 4.5 miles from Copper Harbor.
