Calumet Air Force Station

Calumet Air Force Station is a closed United States Air Force General Surveillance Radar station. It is located 5.2 miles east-southeast of Phoenix, Michigan. It was closed in 1988 by the Air Force, and turned over to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Today the site is part of the Joint Surveillance System (JSS), designated by NORAD as Eastern Air Defense Sector (EADS) Ground Equipment Facility J-59.

Delaware Mine

The Delaware Mine is located off U.S. Highway 41, 12 miles in Grant Township, Keweenaw County, south of Copper Harbor, Michigan and is a Keweenaw Heritage Site. The Delaware Copper Mine provides tours of one of the oldest copper mines in the Keweenaw, dating back to 1846. The mine had five shafts, with the deepest reaching 1,400 feet . The mine is open June through October and offers guided and self-guided tours.

Delaware, Michigan

Delaware is an unincorporated community in Keweenaw County in the U.S. state of Michigan. It was established in 1846 as a copper mining town. It is located in the Keweenaw Peninsula, ten miles south of Copper Harbor and around twenty five miles north of Calumet. When the town was first settled it had a population of one hundred and rose to a population close to 1200 during full operation.

Copper Falls mine

Copper Falls mine was a set of numerous copper mine shafts and adits south of Eagle Harbor, Michigan. The mine was established in 1846. The mine is in Eagle Harbor Township, near the Copper Falls water fall on the Owl Creek and the Copper Falls ghost town.

The Silver River is a 3.2-mile-long stream near the northern tip of the Keweenaw Peninsula in the U.S. state of Michigan.
