Roman Catholic Diocese of Marquette

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Marquette is a suffragan diocese of the Roman rite, encompassing all of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, in the ecclesiastical province of the Archbishop of Detroit. It encompasses an area of 16,281 square miles (42,152 square kilometers). Its cathedral is St. Peter Cathedral in Marquette, which replaced Holy Name of Mary Pro-Cathedral at Sault Ste. Marie. Marquette Mountain

Marquette Mountain is a winter sports area for skiing and snow boarding, located a few miles south of Marquette, Michigan, the major city in the state's Upper Peninsula. In the summer, Marquette Mountain offers activities such as mountain biking, and volleyball. The base area's parking lot is adjacent to highway M-553. Popular from the start, the ski area opened in late 1957.

WDMJ (1320 AM) and WIAN (1240 AM), The Talk of Marquette, are a pair of radio stations broadcasting a news-talk format. WDMJ broadcasts to listeners in the Marquette, Michigan area, while WIAN broadcasts to the Ishpeming, Michigan area. WDMJ has been broadcasting for several decades and was originally owned by The Mining Journal, Marquette's daily newspaper.

Marquette Senior High School, Marquette, Michigan

Marquette Senior High School (MSHS) is a public high school located in Marquette, Michigan. The high school serves grades 9-12, with current student enrollment around 1396 - approximately 51% male to 49% female. High-school age resident athletes from the U.S. Olympic Education Center at Northern Michigan University attend classes at MSHS. The present high school is located on the site of the former Munising Wood Products factory at the corner of Fair Avenue and Lincoln Avenue.
