West Yellowstone, Montana

West Yellowstone is a town in Gallatin County, Montana, adjacent to Yellowstone National Park. The population was 1,271 at the 2010 census. The town is served by Yellowstone Airport. It is part of the Bozeman Micropolitan Statistical Area. It was founded in June 1908 when the Oregon Short Line Railroad was completed. The town's name changed several times until West Yellowstone was settled upon in 1920.

Grizzly & Wolf Discovery Center

The Grizzly & Wolf Discovery Center (originally Grizzly Discovery Center) is a not-for-profit wildlife park and educational facility opened in 1993 that is located in West Yellowstone, Montana, United States. It is open 365 days a year, and admission is good for two consecutive days. The Grizzly & Wolf Discovery Center is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA).

KWYS (AM)

KWYS is a radio station licensed to serve West Yellowstone, Montana. The station is owned by Radio West, LLC. It airs an Oldies/Classic Hits music format. The stations studios are located at 303 Canyon Street, in West Yellowstone. The transmitter site is south of town, on Broadcast Trail Road, near the west gate to Yellowstone National Park. The station was assigned the KWYS call letters by the Federal Communications Commission.

Mount Haynes

Mount Haynes el. 8,218 feet is a prominent peak adjacent to the Madison River in Yellowstone National Park. The peak was named by then Yellowstone superintendent Horace Albright to honor Frank Jay Haynes (1853–1921), the first official photographer of the park. Prior to being named Mount Haynes, the peak was unofficially called Mount Burley for D. E. Burley of the Union Pacific Railroad. Today there is an interpretive overlook along the Madison River just opposite the peak.

Firehole Ranch

Firehole Ranch is a private 640-acre guest ranch located on Hebgen Lake in Gallatin County, Montana. Owned and operated by Lynda Caine since 1999, Firehole Ranch was founded in the late 1890s as Watkins Creek Ranch by George S. Watkins. Originally much larger, Watkins Creek Ranch sold much of its land to the Madison Power and Light Company in 1904 to make way for the Hebgen Lake Dam.
