Chemung is a town in Chemung County, New York, USA. The population was 2,563 at the 2010 census. The town name is derived from the river flowing through it, which means in the native dialect, "Big Horn. " The Town of Chemung is in the southeast corner of the county and is southeast of Elmira, New York. It is part of the Elmira, New York Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Chemung Speedrome

The Chemung Speedrome is a 3/8 mile Asphalt race track in Chemung, New York, USA. Built in 1951 by the Bodine family, the track was first dirt-surfaced, then paved. It was closed in 1978. After buying the track in 1985, one of the current owners Bob Stapleton and John White started to rebuild the track in 1997, and in 2000 the track held its inaugural event.

South Waverly is a borough in Bradford County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 987 at the 2000 census. It runs into Sayre, Pennsylvania in the south and to the north Waverly in Tioga County in New York. South Waverly is also in a small area called 'The Valley,' a group of four contiguous communities in New York and Pennsylvania: Waverly, NY; South Waverly, PA; Sayre; and Athens Pennsylvania, with a combined population near 30,000.

Waverly, Tioga County, New York

Waverly is the largest village in Tioga County, New York, United States. It is located southeast of Elmira in the Southern Tier region. This village was incorporated as the southwest part of the town of Barton in 1854. The village name is attributed to Joseph "Uncle Joe" Hallett, founder of its first Fire Department and pillar of the community, who conceived the name by dropping the 2nd "e" from the name of his favorite author's novel, Waverley by Sir Walter Scott.
