Ledyard, New York

Ledyard is a town in Cayuga County, New York, United States. The population was 1,886 at the 2010 census. The name of the town is from General Benjamin Ledyard, an early settler. The Town of Ledyard is on the western edge of the county and is southwest of Auburn, New York. Wells College, founded as a college for women, is in the village of Aurora.

Indian Chimney Falls

Indian Chimney Falls is a 60-foot (18.2 m) waterfall in Lansing, New York. It is named after a nearby shale formation formed by a creek. The creek with its waterfall are a hanging valley entering as a tributary to the glaciated main valley of Cayuga Lake. This waterfall is located on Indian Chimney Farm, an agritourism farm.

Taughannock Falls State Park

Taughannock Falls State Park is located in the Town of Ulysses in Tompkins County, New York, in the United States. The park is northwest of Ithaca near Trumansburg, New York. The name Taughannock comes from the Algonquian-speaking Lenni Lenape (Delaware) Indians, referring either to chief Taughannock or the word taghkanic (great fall in the woods). The main cataract of the falls is a 215-foot drop, making it 33 feet taller than Niagara Falls.
