McCann Field House

McCann Field House is a 3,200-seat multi-purpose arena in Poughkeepsie, New York, USA. It was built in 1977 and is home to the Marist College Red Foxes men's and women's basketball and women's volleyball teams. The Field House's namesake is James J. McCann. Born in Poughkeepsie in 1880, he and his family operated the McCann Feed and Grain Store on the city's Main Street, and McCann eventually amassed a large estate through the stock market.

Highland, Ulster County, New York

Highland is a hamlet in Ulster County, New York, United States. The population was 5,647 at the 2010 census. Highland is a community in the Town of Lloyd, on U.S. Route 9W. Routes 44 and 55 run through it as well. It is the closest town to the western end of the Mid-Hudson Bridge. Natives stress both syllables when pronouncing the name; it does not rhyme with "island."

Poughkeepsie (Metro-North station)

The Poughkeepsie Metro-North Railroad station serves Poughkeepsie, New York and surrounding areas as the north end of the Hudson Line. It is also served by many Amtrak trains, which continue north to Albany and points beyond, and south to New York City's Pennsylvania Station. Trains leave for New York every hour on weekdays, and about every 25 minutes during rush hour. It is 73.5 miles from Grand Central Terminal and travel time to Grand Central is about one hour, 46 minutes.

Marist College

Marist College is a private liberal arts college on the east bank of the Hudson River in Poughkeepsie, New York. The site was established in 1905 by the Marist Brothers, and the college was chartered in 1929. The college offers over 60 bachelors and masters degree programs and 20 certificates across the traditional undergraduate, graduate, adult education, and distance learning environments including online. Approximately 4,500 undergraduate students attend the Poughkeepsie campus .

Mid-Hudson Bridge

The Mid-Hudson Bridge (officially the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Mid-Hudson Bridge) is a toll suspension bridge which carries US 44 and NY 55 across the Hudson River between Poughkeepsie and Highland in the state of New York. Governor and local resident Franklin D. Roosevelt and his wife Eleanor attended the opening ceremony on August 25, 1930. The bridge was renamed the "Franklin D. Roosevelt Mid-Hudson Bridge" in 1994 though the span is rarely referred to by its official name.
