The community was first founded in the late 1800's. Lonelyville is a small beach community located in the western end of Fire Island in the town of Islip in Suffolk County, New York, United States. Lonelyville has approximately 60 houses and is located between Dunewood and Atlantique. The closest ferry service is from Dunewood. There are no stores or facilities but it is a fairly easy walk or bike ride to Fair Harbor which serves as a town center for the community.

Captree State Park
Captree State Park is a state park in Suffolk County, New York in the USA. The park is located on the easternmost end of Jones Beach Island, and overlooks the Fire Island Inlet and the westernmost section of Fire Island. It lies partly in the Town of Babylon and partly the Town of Islip. The park offers a marina and boat launch, fishing, picnic tables, a restaurant, a playground and recreation programs.
