Ticonderoga High School

Ticonderoga High School is a historic high school building located at Ticonderoga in Essex County, New York. It was built in 1928-1930 and is a three story, masonry neo-Georgian style building with a slate roof, concrete foundation, and brick walls. It features a semi-circular portico with Corinthian order columns and a balustrade and a copper polygonal cupola. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

Mount Defiance (New York)

Mount Defiance is an 853 ft high hill on the New York side of Lake Champlain, in the northeastern United States. It is notable in that the hill militarily dominates both Fort Ticonderoga and Fort Independence, but it was deemed inaccessible so never fortified. Mount Defiance was previously known as Sugar Loaf. In the 1777 Siege of Fort Ticonderoga, the British army succeeded in positioning artillery on Mount Defiance, causing the Americans to withdraw from both forts without a fight.

WIPS (AM)

WIPS was a radio station broadcasting a Classic Hits format. Licensed in Ticonderoga, New York, USA, the station served mainly Essex County in New York and Addison County in Vermont from a transmitter site on Lake Champlain near Fort Ticonderoga. The station was owned by Bisiblue, L.L.C. WIPS started as a AM station located on Route 74 in outside the town of Ticonderoga, NY. The studio and its transmitter were both located on the shores of Lake Champlain.

Ticonderoga (Amtrak station)

The Ticonderoga Station, often referred to as the Fort Ticonderoga Amtrak Station is a train station in Ticonderoga, New York. It is served by the Adirondack, and is 400 yards from the ferry to Shoreham, Vermont. Unlike the Port Kent Station which also serves a cross-lake ferry, Ticonderoga Station is enclosed and is not seasonal. Fort Ticonderoga does have a that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is not served by Amtrak or any other railroad, however.
