Upstate Correctional Facility

Upstate Correctional Facility is a maximum security state prison in Franklin County, New York, USA. The prison is in the Town of Malone. Upstate C.F. is located near Franklin Correctional Facility and Bare Hill Correctional Facility, both medium security prisons. All three prisons, along with other upstate facilities, provide jobs in an otherwise depressed economy. Upstate C.F. was established in 1998 to house special prisoners with a history of assaultive behavior.

Trout River is a hamlet in Franklin County, New York, located very close to the New York/Quebec border. Its neighboring communities are Trout River, Quebec to the north, Constable, New York to the south and Westville, New York to the west. It is located at the corner of highway 30 and highway 20. Trout River Border Crossing

Trout River is a border crossing connecting Athelstan, Quebec to Constable, New York. Historically, Trout River was the primary crossing of the Trout River, NY port of Entry. This distinction is due to the fact that the US Customs and Border Protection defines a port of entry as 'any designated place at which a CBP officer is authorized to accept entries of merchandise to collect duties, and to enforce the various provisions of the customs and navigation laws'.
