Southern National Raceway Park

Southern National Motorsports Park is a 4/10-mile auto racing track in Kenly, North Carolina. As of 2009, the track is essentially closed with only a single racing event taking place on the track. The PASS South Super Late Model Series held one of their points races at the track on September 26, 2009. A USARacing Pro Cup event had been scheduled for August 15, 2009, but it was canceled by the series and replaced by a second race at Langley Speedway.

Kenly, North Carolina

Kenly, known as "Friendly Kenly," is a town in Johnston and Wilson counties in the U.S. state of North Carolina. The population was 1,569 at the 2000 census. Kenly is the home of the Eastern North Carolina Church of God (Cleveland, Tennessee) State Executive Offices and Conference Center.

Buckhorn Reservoir

Buckhorn Reservoir is a reservoir in Wilson County, North Carolina created by the Buckhorn Dam. The reservoir is the primary water supply for the city of Wilson, North Carolina. The original Buckhorn Dam was built in 1974, 1,000 feet upstream from the current dam. The reservoir at that time only had the ability to contain 800 million US gallons of water. In 1999, a new dam was constructed downstream from the older dam creating a reservoir with a much larger capacity.

WGTM

WGTM was an AM radio station licensed to and located in Wilson, North Carolina. Named for the World's Greatest Tobacco Market, WGTM was founded in the 1930s by the Wilson Tobacco Board of Trade. The station originally transmitted at 1310 kHz and now operates on 590 kHz with 5000 watts full time. 106.7 WGTM-FM was silenced by Hurricane Hazel which destroyed the tower in October 1954.
