WAIZ is a radio station broadcasting an oldies format to the Hickory, North Carolina, USA area. The station is currently owned by Newton-Conover Communications, Inc. The format recreates a format resembling a 1960s Top 40 station by using the jingles and other airchecks from WAYS (which was the original "Big Ways"), a legendary Charlotte Top 40 station from the 1960s.

WHKY is a 50,000 watt day and 1,000 watt night radio station in Hickory, North Carolina, broadcasting at 1290 kHz. Since 1987 WHKY has had a talk radio format. The current program line-up includes nationally-known shows Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and ESPN Radio. WHKY produces a two-hour weekday morning Talk Show called First Talk hosted by Hal Row and SportsTalk with Jason Savage on Thursday nights.

Lenoir–Rhyne University is a co-educational, private liberal arts university founded in 1891 and located in Hickory, North Carolina, USA.
