Donnybrook, North Dakota

Donnybrook is a city in Ward County, North Dakota, United States. The population was 59 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Minot Micropolitan Statistical Area. The first place named Donnybrook was founded in 1895 and named after Donnybrook Fair in Ireland. In 1897, the postmaster of this site changed the name to Goetz. The name Donnybrook was then reused in 1898 when a new town formed to the west of Goetz along the main line of the Soo Line Railroad.

Hartland, North Dakota

Hartland is a ghost town in Ward County, North Dakota, United States, in the west of Carpio and north of Berthold. "Hartland, N.D. " article in Hartland Newspaper states "Hartland in 1912--Hartland was a small village established in 1907 in Sec. 30 of Carpio Township. A local resident, Martin D. Johnson is credited with naming the village for his birthplace, Hartland Township in Worth County, Iowa.

Hartland Wind Farm

The Hartland Wind Farm is named after Hartland, North Dakota. The project site area spans portions of Burke, Mountrail and Ward counties, about 25 miles northwest of Minot. The project is sited in an idea location among a ridge, atop a plateau, where there is an exceptional wind regime. The site area can accommodate a total project build-out of near 2,000 MW with an initial planned phase of 300 MW.

Tagus, North Dakota

Tagus is a ghost town in Mountrail County, North Dakota, United States. The town was founded in 1900 approximately forty miles west of Minot and along the Great Northern Railway's transcontinental route. It incorporated in 1908 and reached a peak population of 140 in 1940. It was originally named Wallace, but was later renamed Tagus to avoid confusion with the town of Wallace, Idaho.
