Williston (Amtrak station)

The Williston Amtrak station is a train station in Williston, North Dakota, United States served by Amtrak, the national railroad passenger system. The brick station was built in 1910 by the Great Northern Railway and is located at the southern end of Williston's downtown. Williston is served by Amtrak's daily Empire Builder. Of the seven North Dakota stations served by Amtrak, Williston was the second busiest, boarding or detraining an average of nearly 70 passengers daily.

Williston, North Dakota

Williston is the county seat of Williams County, North Dakota, in the United States. With a population of 14,716 at the 2010 census, the U.S. Census Bureau estimated 2011 population is 16,006, making it the eighth largest city in North Dakota. Founded in 1887, Williston was named for Daniel Willis James, a board member of the Northern Pacific Railroad Company, by his friend, railroad owner, James J. Hill.
