Wright-Patterson Air Force Base

Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (AFB) is a United States Air Force base in Greene and Montgomery counties in the state of Ohio. It includes both Wright and Patterson Fields, which were originally Wilbur Wright Field and Fairfield Aviation General Supply Depot. Patterson Field is located approximately 10 miles northeast of Dayton; Wright Field is located approximately 5 miles northeast of Dayton. National Museum of the United States Air Force

Wright Field

Wright Field was an airfield of the United States Army Air Corps and Air Forces near Riverside, Ohio. It was one of thirty-two Air Service training camps established after the United States entry into World War I in April 1917. From 1927 to 1947 it was the research and development center for the Air Corps, and during World War II a flight test center.
