Montgomery County, Ohio

Montgomery County is a county located in the state of Ohio, United States. According to the 2010 census, it has a population of 535,153, which is a decrease of 4.3% from 559,062 in 2000. It was named in honor of Richard Montgomery, an American Revolutionary War general killed in 1775 while attempting to capture Quebec City, Canada. The county seat is Dayton. Montgomery County is the fifth most populous county in Ohio. The county is part of the Dayton Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Salem Mall

Salem Mall was the first enclosed shopping center in the Dayton, Ohio area. It was located at the intersection of Shiloh Springs Road and Salem Avenue, in the northwest Dayton suburb of Trotwood. The center opened in 1966, and in its early stages had 60 retailers. The original mall was anchored by the Rike's and Sears department stores. There was also a Liberal supermarket, a smaller department store called The Metropolitan, and a multi-screen cinema.

WHIO-TV

WHIO-TV, virtual channel 7, is the CBS-affiliated television station licensed to Dayton, Ohio, serving that state's Miami Valley area. It broadcasts a high definition digital signal on UHF channel 41 from its transmitter on Germantown Street in western Dayton. The station is owned by Cox Media Group and its studios are co-located with sister properties the Dayton Daily News and Cox's Miami Valley radio stations in the Cox Media Center building near downtown Dayton.
