Sandusky High School
Sandusky High School, or SHS, is a secondary school in Sandusky, Ohio. It is the only high school in the Sandusky City School District, and one of two high schools in the city of Sandusky; the other high school is St Mary Central Catholic High School. SHS was one of the first high schools established in the state of Ohio, with the first building commissioned in 1845. The first class - just four students - graduated in 1855.

WCPZ (also known as Mix 102.7 FM) is a radio station in Sandusky, Ohio. The station began as WLEC-FM in 1968 and was the FM sister to AM station WLEC. It became WCPZ on May 19, 1980, dubbed "Leisure 103" with a soft adult contemporary format. WCPZ eventually migrated to a hot adult contemporary format (as "Leisure Rock 103" and later "The Fun Point") during the 1980s, and had kept the format ever since.

Johnson's Island
Johnson's Island is a 300-acre island in Sandusky Bay, located on the coast of Lake Erie, 3 miles (5 km) from the city of Sandusky, Ohio. It was the site of a prisoner-of-war camp for Confederate officers captured during the American Civil War. Johnson's Island was the only Union prison exclusively for Southern officers but it also held regular soldiers. During its three years of operation, more than 15,000 men were incarcerated there.
