Sequoyah, Oklahoma

Sequoyah is a census-designated place (CDP) in Rogers County, Oklahoma, United States. The population was 671 at the 2000 census. The community is the setting for part of the 2000 film Where the Heart Is. J. Evetts Haley, historian of the American West, once owned a ranch near Sequoyah.

Rogers County, Oklahoma

Rogers County is a county located in the U.S. state of Oklahoma. As of 2010, the population was 86,905. Its county seat is Claremore. The county was originally created in 1906 and named Cooweescoowee. However, the residents protested and the name was changed to Rogers County, after Clem Vann Rogers, a mixed-blood Cherokee rancher and father of Will Rogers.

Claremore Lake

Claremore Lake is a reservoir in Claremore, Oklahoma that provides water to the city of Claremore. Constructed in 1930 for the purpose of providing water, the lake covers 470 acres and houses recreational amenities such as boat ramps, fishing docks, and picnic areas. Its major tributaries are Dog Creek and Little Dog Creek. Claremore Lake just recently added an 18 hole disc golf course.

KRSC-TV

KRSC-TV (branded on-air as RSU-TV) is an educational independent television station serving Oklahoma's Green Country region that is licensed to Claremore. It broadcasts a standard-definition digital signal on UHF channel 36 from a transmitter located to the adjacent southeast of Oologah Lake in northern Rogers County. Owned by Rogers State University, KRSC maintains studios located at the RSU campus on West Will Rogers Boulevard in Claremore.
