Marion County, Oregon

Marion County is a county located in the Willamette Valley region of the U.S. state of Oregon. It was originally named the Champooick District, after Champoeg, a meeting place on the Willamette River. On September 3, 1849, the territorial legislature renamed it in honor of Francis Marion, a Continental Army general of the American Revolutionary War. The population was 315,335 at the 2010 census. The county seat is Salem. Marion County is part of the Salem Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Abiqua Creek

Abiqua Creek is a tributary of the Pudding River in the U.S. state of Oregon. The creek originates near Lookout Mountain in the foothills of the Cascade Range in the northwestern part of the state. It flows northwest for about 29 miles to its confluence with the Pudding, about 2 miles west of Silverton, in the Willamette Valley. About 20 miles north of Silverton, the Pudding River meets the Molalla River, which meets the Willamette River less than 1 mile later near Canby.

Silver Creek Reservoir

Silver Creek Reservoir also known as Silverton Reservoir is a sixty-five-acre impoundment on Silver Creek located in the Cascade foothills 2.5 miles southeast of the city of Silverton, Oregon, United States on Oregon Route 214. The reservoir serves the purpose of flood control on the creek. The lake is popular in the spring and summer as a recreation area. Stocked with roughly 20,000 hatchery trout each spring and early summer, the lake also provides opportunities to catch bullhead catfish.
