Ashley is a borough in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, one mile (2 km) from Wilkes Barre. It was a productive coal-mining area at the start of the twentieth century. WBRE-TV is the NBC-affiliated television station for Northeastern Pennsylvania, New York's Eastern Southern Tier and parts of Northern New Jersey that is licensed to Wilkes-Barre.
