The Stones River Mall is an enclosed regional shopping mall in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, USA. Built in 1992, it was expanded and renovated in 2008. The mall comprises more than fifty stores, including Dillard's, JCPenney and Sears as anchor stores, as well as a food court. The mall is managed by Urban Retail.

Rutherford County, Tennessee

Rutherford County is a county located in the U.S. state of Tennessee. As of the 2010 census, it is the state's fifth-largest county by population with 262,604 people, an increase of 44.3 percent over the 2000 population of 182,023. Its county seat is Murfreesboro, which is also the geographic center of Tennessee, as well as the center of population of Tennessee. The county is included in the Nashville-Davidson–Murfreesboro–Franklin Metropolitan Statistical Area.

The Battle of Stones River or Second Battle of Murfreesboro (in the South, simply the Battle of Murfreesboro), was fought from December 31, 1862, to January 2, 1863, in Middle Tennessee, as the culmination of the Stones River Campaign in the Western Theater of the American Civil War. Of the major battles of the Civil War, Stones River had the highest percentage of casualties on both sides.
