Concan, Texas

Concan is a small community in Uvalde County in the southwestern portion the Hill Country of Texas. It sits along the Frio River close to Garner State Park and is a popular destination for summer vacationers. It is also well known for the excellent birdwatching in the spring. There is also a Roy Bechtol designed 18-hole golf course open to the public called Concan Country Club or the Golf Club at Concan.

Leakey is a city in and the county seat of Real County, Texas, United States. The population was 425 at the 2010 census. The city is named for John H. Leakey (1824-1900), a pioneer former Tennessee. Leakey depends heavily on tourism because of the existence of the nearby Frio River and Garner State Park. The Alto Frio Baptist Encampment is located to the southeast of the community.
