First United Methodist Church at 411 Coleman Street in Marlin]] Marlin is a city in Falls County, Texas, United States. The population was 6,628 at the 2000 census but decreased by 10 percent to 5,967 in 2010. Since 1851, it has been the third county seat of Falls County. Marlin has been given the nickname "the Hot Mineral Water City of Texas". Mineral waters were found there in 1892.

Coach Carter Impact Academy

The Coach Carter Impact Academy is an unconventional boarding school that was founded by Ken "Coach" Carter in 2009 in the small Central Texas town of Marlin. After several postponements, Carter announced again that the academy would finally open in early 2012. The Coach Carter Impact Academy is situated to educate roughly 150 students, with 65 of those able to live on campus in dormitories. The academy is known to have a strict academic and athletic atmosphere.

Marlin Airport

The Marlin Airport is a public municipal airport located and owned by the city of Marlin, Texas. The facility includes one runway that extends to over 3,000 feet long that is asphalt. The airport opened in 1960 and is about three miles northeast of Marlin, right next to Lake Marlin.

Falls County, Texas

Falls County is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2010 census, its population was 17,866. It is named for the original 10 foot tall waterfall on the Brazos River, which existed until the river changed course during a storm in 1866. The present falls can be found two miles north east of the original falls at the Falls On The Brazos Park, a campsite located only a few miles out of Marlin on Farm to Market Road 712. Marlin is also the county seat of Falls County.

Sarahville de Viesca, Texas

Sarahville de Viesca or Fort Milam or Bucksnort is a ghost town in Falls County, Texas, United States. The settlement was established in 1834 by Sterling C. Robertson and named for his mother Mrs. Sarah (née Maclin) Robertson and Agustín Viesca, the Mexican governor of Coahuila y Tejas. The site was located at the falls of the Brazos River, where the river formerly dropped 10 feet and where a well-used ford was located.
