Jones Creek, Texas

Jones Creek is a village in Brazoria County, Texas, United States. The population was 2,020 at the 2010 census. The Father of Texas, Stephen F. Austin, first settled in Jones Creek. His original grave resides in the Gulf Prairie Cemetery located on Gulf Prairie Road in Jones Creek. Emily Austin Perry (Stephen F. Austin's sister) and her second husband, James Franklin Perry settled in Jones Creek too at the now historic Peach Point Plantation.

Brazosport Independent School District is a school district based in Freeport, Texas. The district serves the cities, towns, and villages of Clute, Freeport, Jones Creek, Lake Jackson, Oyster Creek, Quintana, Richwood, and Surfside Beach. In addition it serves the unincorporated area of Turtle Cove.

Lake Jackson, Texas

Lake Jackson is a city in Brazoria County, Texas within the Houston–Sugar Land–Baytown metropolitan area. As of a 2010 U.S. Census Bureau estimate, the city population was 26,849. Lake Jackson is named after an oxbow lake of the same name on the outskirts of town. The lake was named after the family whose antebellum plantation house was located at the lake. Minor ruins of the Lake Jackson Plantation can now be seen in a park at the site.

Clute, Texas

Clute is a city in Brazoria County, Texas within the Houston–Sugar Land–Baytown metropolitan area. As of the 2010 U.S. Census, the city population was 11,211. The city gained some fame with the discovery of a fossilized mammoth named Asiel. There is now a restaurant/museum of the same name to honor this discovery.

Brazos Mall

Brazos Mall is shopping mall located in Lake Jackson, Texas. The mall is anchored by Dillard's, Sears, JC Penney and Starplex Cinemas. It is the only major enclosed shopping mall in Brazoria County, Texas. The mall opened in 1976 after nearly two years of development by The MGHerring Group. The loan for the mall was originated and is serviced by Bradford Allen Capital.
