Fluvanna Correctional Center for Women is a prison operated by the Virginia Department of Corrections. It is located in the town of Troy, about 55 miles northwest of Richmond. The security level 3 facility housed 1,199 female inmates as of June 2008, including the women's death row for the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Monticello AVA

The Monticello AVA is an American Viticultural Area located in the central Piedmont region of the Commonwealth of Virginia. It is named for Monticello, the historic home of Thomas Jefferson, located near the center of the area. The Monticello AVA includes most of the counties of Albemarle, Greene, Orange, and Nelson. The area is nestled along the eastern slopes of the Blue Ridge Mountains and encompasses the small ridge known as the Southwest Mountains.

Southwest Mountains

The Southwest Mountains of Virginia are a mountain range centered around Charlottesville, parallel to and geologically associated with the Blue Ridge Mountains, which lie about 30 miles (50 km) to the west. Some of the more prominent peaks include Carters Mountains, Fan Mountain, Brush Mountain, Peters Mountain and Hightop Mountain.

Kluge-Ruhe Aboriginal Art Collection

The Kluge-Ruhe Aboriginal Art Collection of the University of Virginia houses one of the finest indigenous Australian art collections in the world, rivaling many of the collections held in Australia. The museum houses many important breakthrough paintings of the Papunya movement and Arnhem land artists. The museum was formed after the collections of businessman John Werner Kluge and academic, the late Professor Edward L. Ruhe, of the University of Kansas, were amalgamated.
