Columbia Gorge Regional Airport

Columbia Gorge Regional Airport, also referred to as The Dalles Municipal Airport, is a public airport located in Klickitat County in the U.S. state of Washington, two miles (3 km) northeast of the city of The Dalles in the state of Oregon. The airport is jointly owned by the city of The Dalles and Klickitat County. It is adjacent to the Columbia River, near the east end of the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area.

The Dalles Dam

The Dalles Dam is a concrete-gravity run-of-the-river dam spanning the Columbia River, two-miles (3 km) east of the city of The Dalles, Oregon, United States. It joins Wasco County, Oregon with Klickitat County, Washington, 192 miles (309 km) upriver from the mouth of the Columbia near Astoria, Oregon. The closest towns on the Washington side are Dallesport and Wishram. The Army Corps of Engineers commenced work on the dam in 1952 and completed it five years later.

The Dalles Bridge

The Dalles Bridge is a steel cantilever truss bridge that spans the Columbia River between The Dalles, Oregon and Dallesport, Washington. It carries the traffic of U.S. Route 197. 1984 Rajneeshee bioterror attack

The 1984 Rajneeshee bioterror attack was the food poisoning of 751 individuals in The Dalles, Oregon, United States, through the deliberate contamination of salad bars at ten local restaurants with salmonella. A leading group of followers of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh (later known as Osho) had hoped to incapacitate the voting population of the city so that their own candidates would win the 1984 Wasco County elections.
