Attalia, Washington

Atalia was a dryland farming community in Walla Walla County, Washington, located on the East shore of the columbia River some 8 miles downriver from Burbank. Attalia was a stop on both the Northern Pacific Railway and the Oregon Railroad and Navigation Company in 1909. During the 1920s, the town had a newspaper, the News Tribune. Some amount of oil exploration also took place during the 1920s, but never amounted to anything.

Lake Lewis

Lake Lewis was a temporary lake in the Pacific Northwest region of North America, largely formed by the Missoula Floods in about the 14th millennium B.C. Lake Lewis was formed when the restricted flow of waters from periodic cataclysmic floods from Glacial Lake Missoula, pluvial Lake Bonneville, and perhaps from subglacial outbursts, backed up through the constriction formed by the Wallula Gap in the Horse Heaven Hills.

Fort Nez Percés

Fort Nez Percés, sometimes also spelled Fort Nez Percé (with or without the accent), named after the Nez Perce people and later known as (Old) Fort Walla Walla, was a fortified British fur trading post on the Columbia River on the territory of modern-day Wallula, Washington. It was in operation from 1818 until 1857.
