Clallam County is a county in the U.S. state of Washington. As of the 2010 census, the population was 71,404. The county seat is Port Angeles, which is also the county's largest city. The name is a Klallam word for "the strong people. " Clallam County was formed on April 26, 1854. It is south from the Canadian border of British Columbia.

Tse-whit-zen (in the Klallam language, meaning "inner harbor") is a 1,700 to 2,700 year old Lower Elwha Klallam village on the Port Angeles, Washington waterfront, located at the base of Ediz Hook. A project for a graving dock discovered in 2004 that it had been sited to include the village's cemetery. Archaeological efforts have unearthed over 10,000 artifacts and more than 335 intact skeletons.
