Western Maryland Rail Trail

The Western Maryland Rail Trail (WMRT) is a 22.5-mile long shared-use asphalt-paved rail trail from Fort Frederick to Pearre Station, Maryland, United States, that is suitable for walkers, joggers, bikers, rollerbladers and, weather permitting, cross country skiing and snowshoeing. The trail runs on the abandoned right-of-way of the Western Maryland Railroad. The track was closed in stages. The last train ran through the Indigo Tunnel in 1975 and the last train on any part of track in 1987.

Sir Johns Run

Sir Johns Run is an 8.9-mile-long tributary stream of the Potomac River in Morgan County, West Virginia. For most of its course, Sir Johns Run is a shallow non-navigable stream. It rises on the eastern flanks of Cacapon Mountain and from its source, flows north with Cacapon Mountain to its west and Warm Spring Ridge to its east. During its flow northward through the valley, Sir Johns Run is joined by a number of smaller spring-fed streams.

The town is incorporated as Bath, but it is often referred to by the name of its post office, Berkeley Springs. The population of the town was 624 according to the 2010 United States Census. The town is located within the Hagerstown-Martinsburg, MD-WV Metropolitan Statistical Area. Berkeley Springs was a popular resort area during the early years of the United States.
