Whitesville is a town and former coal town in Boone County, West Virginia, United States, along the Big Coal River. The population was 514 at the 2010 census. Whitesville was incorporated on August 15, 1935 by the Boone County Circuit Court. It is named for B. W. White, a prominent early settler in the area. Whitesville was formerly known as Jarrold's Valley and Pritchard City.

Boone County, West Virginia

Boone County is a county located in the U.S. state of West Virginia. As of the 2010 census, the population was 24,629. Its county seat is Madison. Boone County was formed in 1847 from parts of Kanawha, Cabell, and Logan Counties and named for Daniel Boone, noted hunter and explorer, whose home was in the Great Kanawha Valley from 1789 to 1795. Boone County is part of the Charleston, WV metropolitan area which has a 2006 Census population estimate of 305,526 people.

Riverside High School (West Virginia)

Riverside High School is the largest high school in Kanawha County, and is located in Belle, West Virginia, USA. The school opened in 1999 as a result of the consolidation of DuPont High School (AA) in Dupont City and East Bank High School (AA) in East Bank. Students from both of those former high schools, Cedar Grove and Montgomery areas attend the school. The school's attendance district runs from the Kanawha-Fayette county line to the Charleston city limits.

Chesapeake, West Virginia

Chesapeake is a town in Kanawha County, West Virginia, United States. The population was 1,554 at the 2010 census. The town is situated on the Kanawha River. Chesapeake was incorporated in 1949 and named for the Chesapeake and Ohio Railway, which has served the community since 1873. It is also the hometown of NFL player Chris Massey, long snapper for the St. Louis Rams. The current mayor of Chesapeake is Damon Bradshaw.
