Hancock County, West Virginia

Hancock County is a county located in the U.S. state of West Virginia. As of 2010, the population was 30,676. http://quickfacts. census. gov/qfd/states/54/54029. html Its county seat is New Cumberland. Hancock County is the farthest north in the state, being at the tip of the state's Northern Panhandle. It was created from Brooke County in 1848, and named for John Hancock, first signer of the Declaration of Independence.

Chester, West Virginia

Chester is a city in Hancock County, West Virginia, United States, along the Ohio River. It is part of the Weirton–Steubenville, WV–OH Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 2,585 at the 2010 census. Chester was established in 1896, but not incorporated until 1907. The city is named after J.C. McDonald, one of the city's original planners. Chester is home to the Chester teapot, the World's Largest Teapot.

Chester teapot

The Chester teapot is the World's Largest Teapot, which measures 14 feet (4.3 m) in height and 14 (4.3 m) feet in diameter. Its current location is on the former site of a popular amusement park, Rock Springs Park (1897–1970), off an onramp along U.S. Highway 30 in the City of Chester in Hancock County, West Virginia.

Babbs Island

Babbs Island is an island in Hancock County, West Virginia on the Ohio River between East Liverpool, Ohio and Chester, West Virginia. It takes its name from the Babbs family of Columbiana County, Ohio which once owned the island from 1804 to 1820. The pylons of the U.S. Route 30 bridge between East Liverpool and Chester completed in 1978 lie on Babbs Island's southwestern flank. The southernmost end of the island is owned by West Virginia.
