Eau Claire County (Eau Claire is French for Clear Water) is a county located in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. As of 2012, the population estimate was 100,677. Its county seat is Eau Claire. The United States Census Bureau's Eau Claire Metropolitan Statistical Area includes all of Eau Claire County (as well as Chippewa County to the north).

Hobbs Observatory

Hobbs Observatory is an astronomical observatory owned and operated by University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire's Department of Physics and Astronomy and home to the Chippewa Valley Astronomical Society. It is located in the Beaver Creek Reserve four miles north of Fall Creek, Wisconsin. It is named after the Hobbs Foundation, a local philanthropic organization which provided money for the initial construction in 1978 and the purchase of a Navy telescope.

Allen, Wisconsin

Allen is an unincorporated community in the town of Clear Creek in Eau Claire County, Wisconsin, United States. It lies almost exactly midway between Cleghorn and Foster, at the southern junction of Eau Claire County Highways "D" and "V". The community was named after one of its early settlers, Charles Allen, on whose property the community was built, in approximately 1870. In 1913, the Foster Railroad was extended to Cleghorn via Allen.
