Cedeño Municipality, Bolívar
The Cedeño Municipality is one of the 11 municipalities that makes up the Venezuelan state of Bolívar. According to a 2007 population estimate by the National Institute of Statistics of Venezuela, the municipality has a population of 88,296. Currently the Venezuelan government is building a bridge across the Orinoco at Caicara. When completed the bridge will be 2.4 km long. Alexander von Humboldt discovered petroglyphs carved in the granite and gneiss near the river at Caicara.
