Andrés Miguel Salazar Marcano Airport

Andres Miguel Salazar Marcano Airport (Spanish: Aeropuerto Andrés Miguel Salazar Marcano) is an airport serving Isla de Coche, an island in the Venezuelan state of Nueva Esparta. The airport has been under the regional administration of the state of Nueva Esparta since 1992. For years it remained abandoned until 2006, when a major renovation began which included the extension of the runway.

Nueva Cádiz

Nueva Cádiz is an archaeological site and former port town on Cubagua, off the coast of Venezuela. Established around 1515, it was one of the first settlements in the Americas. As early as 1502, rancherías were established on Cubagua, occupied for 3–4 months each year during trading. The island was of particular interest because of its rich pearl oyster beds. Eventually, the settlement became permanent and, by 1520, after the great Indian uprising, its resident population surpassed 300.

Cubagua

Cubagua or Isla de Cubagua is the smallest and least populated of the three islands constituting the Venezuelan state of Nueva Esparta, after Isla Margarita and Coche. It is located 16 km north of Araya Peninsula, the closest mainland area.
