Lai Vung District

Lai Vung is a district (huyện) of Dong Thap Province in the Mekong Delta region of Vietnam. As of 2003 the district had a population of 160,125. The district covers an area of 220 km². The district capital lies at Lai Vung. This district is famous for its Mandarin orange which usually ripens in Tết holiday season and for the master craftman of boat in Long Hau commune. Other specialities are nem- a kind of fermented pork and Phong Hoa pomelo.

Thot Not District

Thốt Nốt is the main urban district of the city of Can Tho in the Mekong Delta region of Vietnam. To the south and west it borders Vinh Thanh and An Giang Province, and to the north with Dong Thap. As of 2003 the district had a population of 192,327. By 2007 this had risen to 196,610. The district covers an area of 171 km². The district capital lies at Thot Not.

Vinh Thanh District, Can Tho

Vĩnh Thạnh is a rural district of Can Tho city in the Mekong Delta region of Vietnam. The district borders An Giang Province to the west, Kien Giang Province to the south, Thốt Nốt District to the north. As of 2004 the district had a population of 155,011. By 2007 this had risen to 162,759. The district covers an area of km². The district capital lies at Thanh An. Vinh Thanh district was established on in May 2004 by Decree No. 05/2004/ND-CP.

Co Do District

Cờ Đỏ is a rural district of Can Tho in the Mekong Delta region of Vietnam. As of 2003 the district had a population of 158,467. The district covers an area of 403 km². The district capital lies at Thoi Lai. The district borders Vinh Thanh district to the west, Kien Giang Province, Thot Not district to the north. The district is notable for being an important headquarters of agricultural research into rice production in the region and contains the office of top scientists.

Binh Thuy Air Base

Binh Thuy Air Base is a former air force base in Vietnam, It was constructed by the United States in 1965 and used by the South Vietnamese Air Force (SVNAF) and the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War in the IV Corps Tactical Zone of South Vietnam. It was seized by the Vietnam People's Army in April 1975 and was abandoned for several decades. Today, the site is being redeveloped as Trà Nóc Airport.
